FWA Champions are individuals in senior leadership positions who champion and support women seeking success on both the professional and personal fronts. They effect change in their organisations and are firm supporters of gender diversity and inclusion in their workplaces and society.

 

FWA members get a chance to interact and meet our Champions in our FWA mentoring programme and as speakers in FWA-led events. In addition to this, the Conversations with FWA Champions series allows our members deeper interaction with our Champions in a small-group setting, to hear the experiences and journeys of our Champions and to learn from them.

Simon Cooper, Chief Executive, Corporate, Commercial & Institutional Banking and Chief Executive, Europe & Americas, Standard Chartered Bank​

 

Simon Cooper is Chief Executive, Corporate, Commercial & Institutional Banking and Chief Executive, Europe & Americas. Based in Singapore, he is a member of the Group Management Team and Chair of the Group Diversity & Inclusion Council.

 

Simon joined Standard Chartered Bank in April 2016 as CEO of the Corporate & Institutional Banking segment. This is the bank’s largest segment, focusing on the biggest corporate and financial institution clients with a range of advice, products and services across corporate finance, financial markets and transaction banking in more than 50 countries. In 2018, alongside the corporate business, he was also asked to lead Standard Chartered’s commercial banking segment, which serves around 40,000 smaller and mid-sized clients in over 25 countries.

 

Simon has extensive experience across our markets in Asia, Africa and the Middle East. He joined the bank from HSBC where he held a number of senior roles including Group Managing Director and Chief Executive of Global Commercial Banking, CEO of HSBC Middle East and North Africa, CEO Korea and Head of Corporate and Investment Banking, Singapore.

 

He serves on the Advisory Board of Singapore Management University, Lee Kong Chian School of Business. He a trustee of the Standard Chartered Foundation.

 

Simon graduated from the University of Cambridge with an MA in Law and is an alumnus of Columbia Business School.

This is a Members-only event that is free of charge for FWA individual and corporate members.  

 

For Individual Members, please login on the website before registering. 

 

For Corporate Members, note that Diamond members may register up to 15 persons, Platinum members may register up to 10 persons and Gold members may register up to 5 persons.   Please click RSVP Now and register using your Institutional Codes (please check with your respective coordinators for your Institutional Code). 

 

The deadline to register for this event is 17 March 2021. Registered participants will receive the link for the Zoom session prior to the event.

 

Cancellation and No Show Policy

We understand that with busy schedules, there may be times when you cannot make an event after you have registered for it. In the event that you cannot make an event, we appreciate that you use our new tool now available to cancel the event. To do so, please login to the FWA website, under “My Account”, select “My Events”, you can cancel the event registration under the “Cancel registration” column.  The last date for any cancellation of attendance for this event is 22 March 2021.
