With technological progress and globalization sweeping across the globe, we have to look at the world in new lenses. Through old frames, we cannot fully envision new realities. As the world keeps changing, what is involved in reframing such a world?
Why Connectivity is Destiny
One of the most often quoted adages in the social sciences is the notion that “geography is destiny.” Now it is all but obsolete. Due to an unprecedented infrastructural expansion that began in the 20th century and is surging into the 21st century, connectivity has become our destiny. Transportation, energy and communications networks are the new foundation of global order in a world that will increasingly be shaped by urban nodes than nations.
Given the emergence of fintech and the disruption that it has caused in the financial services, FWA has started a series of talks on Fintech. Our latest on this was in September with the topic on Women in Fintech: Opportunities, Threats and The Way Forward which had overwhelming responses.
FWA Singapore and Aberdeen Asset Management are delighted to host Dr. Parag Khanna, Senior Research Fellow, Centre on Asia and Globalization, Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, NUS to a “TED-talk" style sharing, followed by a question & answer.

Parag Khanna is a leading global strategist, world traveler, and best-selling author.
