FWA thanks Nomura for the kind sponsorship of the venue and lunch.
THIS IS A MEMBER AND INVITE ONLY EVENT.
FWA is pleased to organize the third round of the Male Champions initiative focused on “Corporate & Investment Banking”. Arguably, Corporate & Investment Banking is the area where gender gaps are the most significant. This makes for interesting debate in the third instalment of our Males from the Top series, as we bring together a panel of senior Male Champions for a discussion on this topic. They are: Managing Director, Vice Chairman, Philip Lee of Deutsche Bank Singapore as our keynote speaker and our panelists: Samir Bhandari, Head of Institutional and Corporate Sales, Asia ex-Japan Global Markets of Nomura; Kenneth Tan, Managing Director, Head of Corporate Group S.E Asia Global Market, Singapore of BNP Paribas; and Henry Quek, Senior Managing Director, Head of Official Institutions, Asia Pacific Sector Solutions of State Street Global Markets.
FWA Singapore announced the Male Champions initiative at the annual celebration of International Women’s Day on 6 March 2015. FWA Male Champions actively support the advancement of women in their financial careers. The role of men in supporting the advancement of women is of paramount importance given that they constitute the majority of senior leadership positions and make key hiring and promotion decisions. In this regard, FWA is proud to feature selected male champions who support and are committed to the development of women.
FWA's second dialogue session with Males from the Top – Chapter 2: Digital Banking and Financial Technology received overwhelming interest from both members and guests. The Male Champions gave real cases on the reality of the working environment, suggested that supporting women in the workplace should be a business imperative, and recommended for women to put themselves forward for promotions.
