Bess is a seasoned product owner with over 10 years of experience in banking environments. She is recognized for her ability to effectively lead the delivery of digital projects translating business vision and new opportunities into tangible products and benefits in an iterative manner. She now owns the wealth management product onboarding and lifecycle management space, working closely with business stakeholders across the bank to understand business imperatives and expectations and determine a strategic approach to product development.

Bess is an avid member of the Credit Suisse Singapore Women’s network events committee and has organised financial wellness and financial inclusion events for both internal staff and external NGOs. She was also one the Mentee Admins for the FWA 2022 mentorship cohort. Outside of work, she loves water sports especially dragon boating and is keen to explore outdoor sports in Singapore.

Brian Sun, Assistant Director, Career Development, Executive Degree Programmes Asia and Middle East, INSEAD

Brian has a 25-year career journey spanning across 4 countries with public-listed multinationals, private organizations, and government agencies. Strong domain in talent acquisition, management and development, Brian demonstrates collaborative &, empathetic problem-solving skills. A global citizen with Singaporean residency, Brian thrives in a dynamic people-oriented environment and making positive impact one encounter at a time.

Brian has been with INSEAD since early 2022 and is currently the Assistant Director | Career Development for Working Professionals in the Asia and Middle East region. He provides career education and coaching to 4 executive degree programmes, Global Executive MBA, Tsinghua-INSEAD Executive MBA, Executive Master of Finance and Executive Master of Change.

He has held commercial management roles with leading multinationals, such as PwC and Marks & Spencer Plc; served in public agencies, Workforce Singapore (Ministry of Manpower) as well as 17 years as a business owner of an executive search consultancy in Mainland China.

 

  

Elene Wang, Corporate Finance Manager, Yinson

Elene is a highly experienced Corporate Finance professional with over a decade of experience in investment, financing, M&A, and related matters. With her expertise, Elene has been instrumental in driving business growth and success for companies operating in the real estate and energy industries. Throughout her career, Elene has developed a deep understanding of financial markets, investment strategies, and corporate finance best practices. She is well-versed in assessing investment opportunities, evaluating risks, and developing strategies that maximize returns while minimizing potential losses.

In her current role, Elene is responsible for the Corporate Finance of her company, including overseeing investment and financing activities, as well as managing mergers and acquisitions. She works closely with senior executives to develop and implement financial plans that align with the company's overall strategic goals.

Elene's extensive experience in the real estate and energy industries has provided her with a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing these sectors. She is well-equipped to navigate complex market conditions and develop innovative solutions that help companies thrive in a rapidly changing business environment.

 

   

Varun Ramdas, Founder & CEO, Fisk Tech

Varun comes with 24 years of work experience globally and 14 years of that in leading a diverse range of people. Varun has a sharp eye for development potential for his people and balances that with his understanding of business needs. Varun believes that the only filter one needs to use in business decision making is that the good of the company comes first and that needs to be communicated with empathy and fairness with the people you lead. He has led businesses and teams in the Oil & Gas and Shipping industries.

Currently, he has turned entrepreneur and runs a marine services and consultancy business that focuses on decarbonization solutions. Varun Ramdas holds an Executive Master’s in Finance from INSEAD, a Master’s in Business Administration from Manchester Business School, a Certificate in Global Management from INSEAD and other leadership courses from his former company MAERSK. Varun continues to make time in coaching and mentoring students and start-ups.

No Show Policy
We understand that with busy schedules, there may be times when you cannot make an event after you have registered for it. In the event that you cannot make an event, we appreciate that you use our new tool now available to cancel the event. Cancellation is allowed up to 2 days ahead of the event date. To do so, please log in to the FWA website, under “My Account”, select “My Events”, you can cancel the event registration under the “Cancel registration” column. For members that no-show for 3 consecutive events, we regret to inform that you will be barred from attending any FWA events for the next 3 months. We hope you understand this policy as our events are often in high demand and your co-operation will allow those who can and wish to attend our events to do so.
