Join us for this session on impact investments, which is a growing movement to deploy capital towards addressing the world’s most pressing challenges.
This includes investments in areas such as sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, conservation, and accessible basic services including housing, healthcare, and education. 

Hear from our experienced panellists, in support of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). They will share their perspectives on the considerations and progress of this growing are of interest. Key topics of the panel will include: 

  • Women as champions of change - leading the way in impact investing and why the future of social, sustainable and impact investing is in female hands.
  • How global capital markets can include more women - in the impact investing ecosystem and the benefits of having women investors
  • New ways of cooperation between governments, NGOs, corporates, and private investors - combining the forces of entrepreneurship, innovation, and capital to improve lives.
  • Fintech for social good through the use of emerging fintech solutions - enable greater access to basic human amenities for their populations.

Panellists and Moderator Bios: 

ANDREW ASHMAN

Head of Loan Syndicate - Asia Pacific, Barclays

Andrew runs the Asia Pacific Loan Syndicate team, based in Singapore, with over 15 years’ experience covering the European, Asian and Australian leveraged and structured finance markets. He currently focuses on the underwriting and distribution of loans across Asia and Australia. The syndicated lending team at Barclays delivers financing solutions to the bank’s corporate and sponsor relationship clients with a focus on event-driven situations. The team is also responsible for all bridge financing, working closely with the bank’s broader product teams to tailor integrated debt solutions to meet specific client requirements. Andrew is a board member of Asia Pacific Loan Market Association (APLMA) and Chairman of the Singapore branch and has been closely involved in the roll-out of the Association’s Green Loan and Sustainability Linked Loan Principles. He is also a member of the MAS advisory panel tasked with promoting Singapore as a regional centre for Green and Sustainable Finance. Andrew is also Co-chair of the Diversity and Inclusion committee at BritCham Singapore and is passionate about promoting diversity in the region’s Sustainable Finance market.


CHRISTINA LEE

Founder and CEO, Global Green Connect

Christina is the Founder and CEO at Global Green Connect & GGEF. Global Green Connect provides consulting services to help companies to integrate ESG as business and brand strategies, working closely with the next generation through innovation and entrepreneurship, helping to scale-ups by connecting and empowering them with businesses and capital to generate a triple bottom line. GGEF is a social enterprise headquartered in Singapore since 2012. GGEF organizes conferences, awards and workshops to promote innovation, sustainability and leadership in business, inspire current and future leaders. Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, Christina was appointed as Asia Managing Director of the leading global business media, Bloomberg Businessweek (formerly known as BusinessWeek). Christina was named one of the Asia’s Top 30 ‘Eco Warriors 2019’ by social media network, Green is the New Black. She was awarded the ‘Achiever Award, Leader in Responsible Corporation Driving Impact’ at the Asia Futurist Leadership Summit 2020.

 

ANNE LOCHOFF

Ex – Senior Advisor to United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)

Anne is one of 9 Women rated as the Top Global Influencers of Tech Innovation in Cities featured in Inc.com in 2016. She was previously an advisor to the UNDP Global Centre for Technology, Innovation, and Sustainable Development and has consulted as a strategic business advisor to the Executive Director of the World Vision hosted Asia P3 Hub based in Singapore. She is also the former chair and business advisor at New Zealand Trade and Enterprise Beachheads network - South East Asia.

 

KOMAL SAHU

Chief of Impact and Sustainable Finance, Asian Venture Philanthropy Network

Komal serves as the Chief of Sustainable Finance at Asian Venture Philanthropy Network (AVPN). She leads AVPN’s engagement with family offices, HNWIs, private wealth holders, corporations and financial institutions across Asia. In this capacity, she helps these stakeholders achieve their objectives of investing within a framework of impact and sustainability. As the only comprehensive funders' network in Asia, AVPN is a leading ecosystem builder for the social investment sector with 600+ members globally. AVPN’s mission is to catalyse the movement toward a more strategic, collaborative and outcome focused approach to social investing, ensuring that resources are deployed as effectively as possible to address key social challenges facing Asia today and in the future.

NITIN JAISWAL

Head of Government Affairs & External Relations,  Bloomberg

Nitin Jaiswal is Head of Government Affairs & External Relations for Bloomberg in Asia-Pacific. Based in Singapore, Mr. Jaiswal works with government, regulators, business leaders and think tanks to help advance market development in emerging and developed countries. Through strategic initiatives, spanning financial market structure to green finance, he looks to leverage Bloomberg’s global network and expertise as a leading data and information company to affect positive change and accelerate development in Asia, a region that is shaping global markets. Prior to this, he was Asia Pacific Head of Market, Products and Government Relations for Bloomberg. In this role, Mr. Jaiswal oversees product development of the Bloomberg Terminal and leads the market specialist team across Asia, offering innovative services and specialized financial markets knowledge to key clients. His expertise covers equities, fixed income and foreign exchange instruments.

No Show Policy


We understand that with busy schedules, there may be times when you cannot make an event after you have registered for it. In the event that you cannot make an event, we appreciate that you use our new tool now available to cancel the event. Cancellation is allowed up to 2 days ahead of the event date. To do so, please log in to the FWA website, under “My Account”, select “My Events”, you can cancel the event registration under the “Cancel registration” column. For members that no-show for 3 consecutive events, we regret to inform that you will be barred from attending any FWA events for the next 3 months. We hope you understand this policy as our events are often in high demand and your co-operation will allow those who can and wish to attend our events to do so.
