BlackRock’s Women’s Initiative & Allies Network presents a fireside chat with Sherry Marcus and Rachel Schutt, Co-heads of BlackRock AI Labs.

 

AI Labs is the central hub for BlackRock’s initiatives in data science and artificial intelligence to create best practices and solve the high priority problems to bring benefits to our clients and investors.  

 

The theme of discussion is:

 

AI – The Transformer of Asset Management & Women’s Role in it

 

We will explore:

  • How will AI evolve in the coming years for the financial services industry?
  • How the financial services industry can best prepare for this new evolution?
  • BlackRock’s strategy towards advancing and embracing data science?
  • The role women are playing in this prolific growth of data science?

Speaker Bios:

Dr Sherry Marcus

Dr Sherry Marcus holds a PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Mathematics and an AB from Cornell University. Prior to Blackrock, she was Chief Data Analytics at Millenium Partners and has held mission-critical roles in the intelligence community and DoD while leading a series of highly successful scalable analytics solution in support of national missions in counter-terrorism, counter-narcotics etc. She has received the technical medal of excellence from the Central Intelligence Agency for her work with the US Government. Sherry is a founding member of the science board at the National Counter-Terrorism Center. She sits on the Advisory Board for the Carnegie Mellon Computational Finance Department and is a member of the board of the MIT Club of NY.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dr Rachel Schutt

 

Dr Rachel Schutt, earned her PhD in Statistics from Columbia University, a Masters degree in mathematics from NYU, and a Masters degree in Engineering-Economic Systems and Operations Research from Stanford University. Previously Rachel was the Chief Data Scientist of News Corp where she oversaw the company-wide data strategy as an executive on the senior technology leadership team and established company's first data science team for Dow Jones, the Wall Street Journal, and other media brands. Rachel was named a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader in 2015 and is on the 2014 Crain's New York Business 40 under 40 list.

No Show Policy


We understand that with busy schedules, there may be times when you cannot make an event after you have registered for it. In the event that you cannot make an event, we appreciate that you use our new tool now available to cancel the event. Cancellation is allowed up to 2 days ahead of the event date. To do so, please log in to the FWA website, under “My Account”, select “My Events”, you can cancel the event registration under the “Cancel registration” column. For members that no-show for 3 consecutive events, we regret to inform that you will be barred from attending any FWA events for the next 3 months. We hope you understand this policy as our events are often in high demand and your co-operation will allow those who can and wish to attend our events to do so.
