Mental illness is still spoken today in hush tones with those with mental illnesses being stigmatised in all aspects of life. There is an urgent need today to destigmatise mental illnesses and create more public awareness around this topic. Our government is also doing their part in stepping up efforts to destigmatise mental health, especially the efforts by the National Council of Social Services and mental wellness being adopted in the President’s Challenge.

In addition to this sharing about mental illnesses, we have as a keynote speaker, Mr Hsieh Fu Hua, who will be sharing his personal encounters with mental health.

Together with the Caregivers Alliance (CAL), a charity with IPC status and GIC, FWA is pleased to bring to you this session on Mental Health and Wellness.

In this session, CAL will give us an introduction to mental health & wellness, share the misconceptions surrounding mental health, what are the key indicators of mental wellness, the different types of mental health conditions, the signs and symptoms of these health challenges, where we can go to get help and tips to maintain mental health and wellness.
