FWA Lunchtime Talk: The Power of the Feminine, 30 August, 12-2pm

Please note that lunch will be provided. FWA thanks National Australia Bank for the kind sponsorship of venue and lunch.

How many women have been told how to dress, speak and behave to build credibility as a female executive? Essentially, how many of us have been taught to behave like 'men' to be taken seriously? Isn't it time to evolve beyond that?

This chat will explore the challenges of being 'feminine' in corporate context, especially in financial services. It will explore what is means to be 'feminine' and create space for women to celebrate our uniqueness and value-add in corporate settings. So-Young will share global trends that have created more space and need for the 'feminine' and why we are seeing increasing numbers of female global leaders. So-Young will share from her experience advising boards, C-level executives on what 'success' looks like and how we can leverage our 'feminine' power to increase influence and impact.

Schedule:

12.00pm: Registrations, lunch and networking
12.30pm - 2.00pm: Talk on the Power of the Feminine by Kang So-Young
2.00pm: Close

Our solutions are shaped by our core values and vision. We work in different contexts and design solutions based on our clients’ needs. For individuals – this could look like CEO coaching. For teams – shared learning experiences. For organizations – new business strategies and customer-centric innovations. For governments – more human public policy-making and citizen-centric service experience. Our clients look for Change. Transformation. Innovation. Growth. Capabilities. Inspiration. Alignment. Leadership.

We work in the intangible (vision, strategy, leadership, organization, process) and tangible* (architecture, interior design, products/services, branding) to design transformative experiences from the inside out to bring joy and beauty to the world.

About Gnowbe (www.gnowbe.com) - Grow your knowledge into being.

Gnowbe is a mobile education app for action-based learning consisting of “bite-sized knowledge.” This is about learning that is relevant, scalable at low cost and actionable. Content is values-driven and principle-based. It is designed for busy professionals and executives who have no time yet want to continue learning for their personal and professional development. It is a mobile app that only requires 15 minutes per day. Each topic takes one month to give users a real taster for the topic and time to practice applying the principles. Content is action-based which means that each day includes actions that the user needs to do to apply their learning in practical ways. Experts in adult learning say that practice is where true learning occurs.

Our product is unique in 3 different ways:

  1. Bite-sized and accessible. Every day, users will learn one new principle or idea and will have the chance to put it into practice. We believe knowledge that can be acted on by simple actions is powerful.
  2. Principle-based. We have narrowed down these topics into the basic principles so that even after they complete the topic, users can start to apply it in different areas of life - work, life, and relationships.
  3. Engaging and interactive. Each day has been designed to keep users entertained and engaged by interacting with us, each other and the app. We curate from leading practitioner-led content sources like TED.com and Harvard Business Review to provide credible sources on various topics.
