FWA is pleased to announce the second round of the Male Champions initiative focused on “Digital Banking and FinTech”. The finance industry is increasingly influenced by digital and technology changes which impact the landscape in which banks traditionally operate in.  FWA brings together a panel of Male Champions who are passionate about game-changing technology, its impact on the finance industry and how they believe women can contribute to this shift.  This second chapter will feature DBS CEO Piyush Gupta as our keynote speaker and a panel including Kevin Gould, Co-Founder of Markit, Matthew Driver, Group Executive, Global Products & Solutions, APAC, Mastercard and Aurelion Pichon, Head of Operations of Thomson Reuters. 

FWA Singapore announced the Male Champions initiative at the annual celebration of International Women’s Day on 6 March 2015. FWA Male Champions actively support the advancement of women in their financial careers. The role of men in supporting the advancement of women is of paramount importance given that they constitute the majority of senior leadership positions and make key hiring and promotion decisions. In this regard, FWA is proud to feature  selected male champions who support and are commited to the development of women.   

FWA’s first dialogue session with Males from the Top – Chapter 1: The Wealth and Asset Management Industry received overwhelming interest from both members and guests. The Male Champions gave real cases on the reality of the working environment, suggested that supporting women in the workplace should be a business imperative, and recommended for women to put themselves forward for promotions.

PIYUSH GUPTA
Chief Executive Officer & Director of DBS Group

Piyush Gupta is CEO and Director of DBS Group, as well as Director of DBS Bank (Hong Kong) and The Islamic Bank of Asia. DBS is the largest financial services group in Southeast Asia, with assets of over S$400 billion. Prior to joining DBS, Piyush was Citigroup’s CEO for South East Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
  
Some of Piyush’s external appointments include serving as the Deputy Chairman of SPRING Singapore, as a member of the Group of Experts to the ASEAN Capital Markets Forum, and on the boards of the Institute of International Finance, Washington, The Institute of Banking and Finance, Dr. Goh Keng Swee Scholarship Fund and the MasterCard Asia/Pacific, Middle East and Africa Regional Advisory Board. He is an advisory board member of Sim Kee Boon Institute for Financial Economics and a council member of The Association of Banks in Singapore. Piyush is also a Managing Council member of Indian Business Leaders’ Roundtable (under SINDA). 

KEVIN GOULD
President & Co-Founder
Markit

Kevin Gould is president of Markit and a co-founder of the company. He was appointed head of Markit’s Asia Pacific business in July 2013. Previously, Kevin led Markit’s North America business. Under the leadership of Kevin and the rest of the management team, Markit has grown from a start-up to a global company with over 3,000 employees in more than 20 offices worldwide, serving over 3,000 customers.
  
Prior to Markit, Kevin worked at TD Securities for five years, most recently as head of European fixed income. He joined TD Securities from CIBC World Markets where he worked for nine years in fixed income trading and sales.

MATTHEW DRIVER
Group Executive, Global Products & Solutions, Asia Pacific
Mastercard

Matthew Driver is President, SEA for MasterCard, based in Singapore. In this role, he is responsible for managing all aspects of the MasterCard business in ASEAN including business strategy & development, customer management, business operations and stakeholder engagement as the company seeks to expand the reach of electronic payments to facilitate inclusive economic growth and achieve its vision of a “World Beyond Cash”. 

Mr. Driver joined MasterCard in 2002. Before that, he was the global lead for the ABN AMRO Global Account team based in London. Mr. Driver has more than 25 years of experience in business development, consulting, product management and marketing in banking, payments and business. 

AURELIEN PICHON
Head of Operations, Asia Pacific
Thomson Reuters

Aurélien (Auré) is currently in charge of the Operations for the Financial & Risk Business across the Asia Pacific region. In his role, Auré leads the teams across sales operations, sales effectiveness, the Program Office, client service experience, skills development, as well as audit & compliance.
  
Prior to his current role, Auré was leading strategy, business development and operations for the buy-side business in Asia Pacific. Auré joined Thomson Reuters in 2009 and has since held various positions within corporate strategy, finance, M&A, business turnaround and general management.
  
Prior to joining Thomson Reuters, Auré has been working for “Mars Incorporated” where he had the opportunity to develop a very international profile.
  
Aure holds an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College (USA) and a general engineering degree from France. 

Ms Jennifer Lewis 
Managing Director, Communications
GIC Pte Ltd

Ms Jennifer Lewis is responsible for the strategic management of GIC’s internal and external communication activities. She joined the sovereign wealth fund in 2007 after more than twenty years as a journalist with television, print and online experience. She was the founding Editor of both Straits Times TV, Singapore's first television news organisation owned by a newspaper, as well as STOMP (Straits Times Online Mobile Print), a news website that leveraged online tools to change the way news was received and distributed in Singapore. Jennifer serves on the board of the Singapore International Foundation and has been a Governor since 2007.
