Whether they are quick and impulsive or more complex, we all make thousands of decisions every day. It is now widely accepted that unconscious bias affects our decision making process. Research also shows that it is not enough for us to know that we are biased, (it is unconscious after all), we also have to develop and apply strategies to mitigate the impact of this bias. 

Furthermore, if we are on the receiving end of unconscious bias, it is important to know how to not let it distract us and affect our confidence. 

In this interactive session we will look at:
- The science behind the concept
- How it affects us both personally and in our roles as leaders
- How to minimise the impact of bias
- How to be resilient in the face of bias

Jean Balfour is an organisation consultant, facilitator and Ashridge accredited executive coach with 20 years in organisation and professional development.

Jean is passionate about working with organisations to build inclusive workplaces. She ran her first women’s development workshop in 1991 and since then has continued to work with both organisations and individuals on Diversity & Inclusion. Most recently Jean has been facilitating Unconscious Bias and Inclusive Leadership workshops globally.

Jean has an MSc in Organisation Consulting from Ashridge Business School, a Post Grad Diploma in Human Resource Development, and is an Ashridge Accredited Executive Coach. She has wide experience in facilitation and in the development and delivery of a range of leadership and management programmes.
