To bring some colour and excitement to our AGM, in addition to sharing with you our plans for FWA going ahead, we have invited Ms Genny Chia, an acclaimed and recognized style consultant to help you discover your personality through colour! Here is a synopsis of what she hopes to share at our AGM:
Every colour has meanings, and a hidden influence that is both universal and personal when worn by you. Discover the secrets of your personality through colour, and learn how energies of colour can enrich every aspect of your life. This is achieved through a revealing quiz that shows your true colours. We will also discuss the art of accessorising and tips on how to create a more stylish and contemporary image.
About the speaker
Ms Genny Chia is the Founder and Principal Image Trainer of Style Infinity Image Consultancy & Training Academy – an Image and Personal Branding company which offers personal branding solution, professional business etiquette, as well as customer service excellence to both individual and corporate professional clients.
Genny is personally trained by an international panel of experts giving her credentials which are endorsed and awarded by various world recognised organisations. She is trained personally by 3 world renowned Image Masters and has obtained her etiquette certification from Emily Post Institute (USA). This made her one of the very few pioneer associate trainers of Emily Post Institute in Asia. Genny graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and is also a Master Practitioner in Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP). She is also a certified ACTA trainer recognised by WDA.
Genny has worked with Fortune 500 and multinational companies. Her clienteles include ExxonMobil, Barclays, Christian Dior, LVMH Fragrances & Cosmetics (Singapore) Pte Ltd, LifeSpa (S) Pte Ltd, TSCG LLP, Aqueens Singapore Pte Ltd, Cresendas Group of Companies, University of Nevada- Las Vegas, Temasek Polytechnic, and National University of Singapore, just to name a few. Genny is currently a Lecturer with Ngee Ann Polytechnics offering professional advice in the area of image and business etiquette.
Genny is currently the Vice President of Membership of Association of Image Consultant International (AICI) South-Asia Singapore.
She is seen as an expert in subject matters such as fashion & trends and corporate image management. Genny had spoken at women’s talks and has several featured articles in publication such as the Straits Times Urban in Singapore and Woman Today from the Philippines.
Additional Items for AGM
As an ordinary member of the Financial Women's Association (Singapore), I would like to give you notice of two additional items which I would like to raise on the Agenda of the 14th Annual General Meeting of the Financial Women's Association (Singapore) on Tuesday 24 March 2015 pursuant to Rule 7.8 of the Constitution of the Financial Women's Association (Singapore), in the following terms:
3. To consider and adopt the following proposed amendments to the Constitution of the Financial Women's Association (Singapore), subject to the approval of and/or any further amendments required by, the Registrar/Assistant Registrar of Societies:
"Rule 8.2.1:
8.2.1 All office-bearers may be re-elected to the same or related post for a consecutive term of office, provided that the Treasurer may not be re-elected to the same or related post for three (3) consecutive terms of office, and the President may not be re-elected to the same or related post for five (5) terms of office, save in that this term limit may be extended by no more than one term with the consent of two-thirds of the voting members present at the meeting. The term of office of the Committee is 1 year."
4. To authorize the expenditure of the sum of up to $9,900 for the revamp of FWA Singapore website with a new look and feel with a new user interface (UI) or graphics design and layout. The new UI will focus on better support of modern mobile devices such as smartphone and tablet to maximise its user browsing experience. The organisation of the website will also be improved.

President’s Message
Dear fellow members and friends,
2013/2014 has been another busy and fruitful year for FWA Singapore. We continued to bring to our members, through an average of two talks each month, relevant content and good speakers aimed at building self-awareness, enhancing personal effectiveness, succeeding in the workplace and work/life integration. Fun and educational networking sessions allowed members to mingle and get to know one another. We continued to deepen our partnerships with our corporate members, through our quarterly corporate lunch sharing. The growth in FWA corporate memberships, from a handful of 3 members in 2011 to 28 as at end-2014, speaks of the success we have had in our engagement and partnerships with our corporate members.
We thank our individual members for supporting us and in providing suggestions and ideas to help us improve and grow. To recognize our loyal FWA members and to engage more senior women as role models for younger women, we launched an “Up Close & Personal” leadership talk series, inviting senior women in the financial industry to share with mid- to senior-level women their journeys in life. The female leaders who have shared included Catherine Low, Sharon Craggs, Eleanor Seet and Tan Su Shan.
We continued our flagship events – International Women’s Day celebration and Senior Executive lunch – focused on thought leadership and best practices sharing. Through partnerships with select educational institutes and media partners, FWA Singapore has gained increased recognition as the only platform dedicated to advancing the professional and personal growth of women in financial services.
Our growth has come alongside healthy accounts! We continue to serve the community via our charity concert in support of Pistorio Foundation. And our mentoring program, in its third year, saw more mentees being mentored, thanks to support from our corporate members and senior women and men that have stepped forward to mentor. On that note, we have stepped up our engagement of male leaders to support what we do, and just launched our Male Champions initiative on International Women’s Day. We look forward to more events with them in the year ahead.
It is with deep gratitude and thanks to my fellow exco members that the FWA has grown in visibility and stature. Still, we need more volunteers to step forward. Committed and aligned with our mission of building confident and successful women who in turn contribute back to the community. Please join us and Make It Happen.
