2013/2014 Charity Sub-Commitee follow Up
Dear FWA Members & Friends,
The FWA Charity Sub-Committee would like to update you on the activities of the Pistorio Foundation as a follow up to our support of the Foundation through fund raising activities in 2013 and 2014. The Pistorio Foundation is a non-profit organization based in Geneva, Switzerland founded by Pasquale Pistorio in April 2005. Its mission is to improve the living conditions of children in developing countries with focus on education, by providing long-term scholarships for underprivileged children from Primary to Professional School, and by building, and improving school infrastructure. Through two beautiful concerts and with your generous support, the following were raised:

| April 2014 concert “Strings of Hope Charity Concert” by re:mix and emceed by Deirdre Wang Morris CNBC | 27,307.95 SGD |
On behalf of the Pistorio Foundation and FWA, we would like to THANK YOU for your generous support. The money raised was used mainly for children’s scholarships in Thailand to support their continual education. Annual support of 300 SGD provides them with uniforms, school supplies, backpacks, meal in school, medical checkups, and transport to school or dormitory costs. You helped 162 children!
Please see below profiles of two students:
Miba Ayi Ka was born is Burma. She is 9 years old. She currently lives in the dormitory built by the Pistorio Foundation. She attends the Boarding of Ban Mai Pattana School.
Miba has 4 brothers and 6 sisters. Her parents are farmers, and the only income for them is from the family farm. 5 oldest siblings are working in the family farm.
Pistorio Foundation also supports one of Miba’s sisters, Meena.
Malene Kaewthit is Thai and she is 9 years old. Her parents are both farmers and have low income coming from agriculture. Malene has one disabled sister who is 13 years old and one little brother who is only 1 years old.
