Physical wellness has long been the focus of our mod ern society\, and in particular\, in Singapore\, where the health has long been a priority for both the government and its residents. In today’s h igh stress world however\, more and more emphasis has to be put on emotion al wellness\, particularly in women\, whose roles both at home and at work usually take its toll – not to mention\, compounded by societal expecta tions. Women worldwide have almost twice the rates of anxiety and depressi on as men\, and women in Singapore are no exception. Find out from Dr. Cor nelia Chee the possible reasons why women’s emotional health are an issu e\, and more importantly\, how to recognise it in your own life and among your peers. Key Note Speaker: Dr. Cornelia Chee is a senior consultant psychiatr ist practicing in adult general psychiatry at the National University Hosp ital. Cornelia did her fellowship in Women's Mental Health in Toronto and set up the Women’s Emotional Health Service at NUH in 2007 for which she has been the programme director for the past 8 years. The service caters to pregnant and post-natal women with mental health issues\, and women's c ancers\, but has recently expanded to peri-menopausal women and those with fertility issues as well.
