FAQs for the Upgraded FWA Website

A. Current Members

  1. I am a current member of the FWA. How does this upgraded FWA Website impact me?
  • The upgraded FWA Website allows current members to
  • Sign up for events online
  • Pay for events online (at member rates) using Paypal
  • Renew annual membership online
  • Pay for renewed annual membership online using Paypal
  • Update your membership details (eg. Email address, Company, Job title) pro-actively
  • The FWA Committee encourages our current members to start using this upgraded Website for the above to improve the efficiency and turnaround of your requests to us.
  1. I am a current member of the FWA. How do I get my ID and password to use the above functions of the Website?
  • You will be receiving your initial ID and password by email to your designated email address, between the dates of 9 -11 September 2009. Once received you will be able to immediately start using them to log into our Website for any of the above functions.
  • Your ID and password are auto-generated by the back-end system behind the Website, and is absolutely confidential.
  • Should you not receive anything after the abovementioned dates, please contact us immediately at fwa.singapore@gmail.com.
  1. Once I have received my auto-generated ID and password, am I able to change it once I log in?
  • Yes, you may change your password once you have successfully logged on to the system. To do this, go to Update Your Profile under the Membership section on our website.
  • We encourage all current members to change their password upon logging into the system for the first time.
  • However, please note that the IDs for current members like yourself are fixed and may not be changed.
  1. I managed to sign up as an FWA member online recently, and created my own ID and password. Subsequently I received a system generated email  confirming the activation of my account. In this case, will I still be receiving a new ID and password?
  • For new membership applications done online after 1 July 2009, members are able to create their own personal IDs and passwords. In this case, there will NO new ID and password sent to you.
  1. I am a current member of the FWA but I have forgotten my password. What should I do?
  • The system will firstly prompt you that you have input an invalid ID and password. Simply go to “Forgotten your password?” and click on the prompt “Click here to receive it via email”. You will receive a new password via your designated email address.
  1. What if I have forgotten both my login ID and password?
  • In this case, please email us at fwa.singapore@gmail.com via your designated email addresses to obtain a complete reset of your password.
  1. I have just made a payment for my new membership applicationmembership renewal via Paypal. How important is it that I click on the button that links me back to the FWA website?
  • This is very important and necessary. Not doing so will not enable our system to capture your payment details on Paypal.
  • This is also an essential step when making payments for our events.
  1. I am a current FWA member, and just attempted to sign up for an event via Event Registration. However, I was only offered the guest rate by the system.
  • In this case, please check if you have successfully logged-in using your ID and password before registering for the event. Preferential member pricing can only be enjoyed upon successful login to our website.
  1. If I continually encounter technical issues with this Website, who can I contact?
  • Please email us at fwa.singapore@gmail.com explaining the technical problem, and we will do our best to get you a quick resolution.
B. Interested Applicants
  1. I am interested in joining the FWA. I have filled up the membership application form online, but changed my mind after reaching the Annual Membership Dues page. In this case, did my application form get through the system?
  • Yes, once you have arrived at the Annual Membership Dues page, it would mean that you would have submitted your application form to us. You would also have received an email informing you of your membership application.
  • However, an application is only considered successful upon receipt of payment from you (please also refer to answer in pt 12)
  1. I have just made a payment for my new membership application via Paypal. How important is it that I click on the button that links me back to the FWA website?
  • This is very important and necessary. Not doing so will not enable our system to capture your payment details on Paypal.
  • This is also an essential step when making payments for our events.
  • If you exited without returning to the FWA website, it may take us some time to pick up your payment details. In that case, please send us an email with subject matter: Membership at fwa.singapore@gmail.com with your name, contact number and date of payment.
  1. I just made a successful membership payment via Paypal, and returned back to the FWA website as prompted. Will I immediately be able to log into the website with my new ID and password?
  • Yes, as long as your payment was deemed successful, and this data was captured by our system, you will have immediate login access.
  • However, please note that all new membership applications, regardless of payment mode, takes effect upon the FWAS Committee's approval thereof, and the FWAS Committee reserves the right to reject the same notwithstanding your having signed up with us and made payment of the membership fees pursuant to the foregoing sign up process. Should such rejection occur, the FWAS Committee will notify you accordingly and furnishing a full refund of any payment made within a reasonable time.
  • Unless you are notified otherwise, you can assume that your membership application has been accepted and activated.
  1. I just completed my new membership application online, and opted to pay by cheque. Will I immediately be able to log into the website with my new ID and password?
  • No. In this case, your login ID and password will only be activated upon successful receipt of your cheque payment (please also refer to answer in pt 12)
